Solid State Logic will showcase its TCA Tour audio production system and Live V6.2 software, while also introducing an SSL Live trade-in programme.

TCA Tour is a compact fly-away setup built from System T components for broadcast, touring and live production. Packaged in a portable desktop format, it is designed for rapid deployment on site or on the road.

At the centre of the system is a desktop control frame with 16 faders and integrated onboard I/O, pre-wired for immediate use. The setup includes eight mic/line inputs, four line outputs, headphone monitoring, a built-in network switch, and an adjustable mount for a touchscreen and a PC running SSL's Tempest Control App.

Two fader tile options are available. The DFT+ version adds per-fader OLED displays and individual fader metering, giving operators more visual information within the same compact footprint.

Connections have been ruggedised for field use. The system uses etherCON and opticalCON links to connect with external racks housing Tempest Engines and I/O, underscoring SSL's focus on applications where crews need to move and set up equipment quickly.

Software update

Alongside the hardware, SSL is demonstrating Live V6.2 on its L650 and L100 Plus consoles. The update adds SolidPitch, an onboard vocal tuning effect for both subtle correction and more pronounced vocal processing in live production.

It also includes doubling and harmonisation functions, expanding the range of vocal effects available from the console itself rather than requiring separate external processing.

Another element of Live V6.2 is integration with KLANG immersive processors. This allows immersive monitor mixes to be created and controlled directly from the console, reflecting the wider move in live sound towards more integrated personal monitoring workflows.

The release also brings changes to workflow, monitoring and automation. These additions are aimed at live environments where operators need to manage complex productions under time pressure, though SSL has not provided further technical detail in the announcement.

Trade-in push

The new trade-in programme broadens the announcement beyond product updates. Any owner of a professional live console can use the scheme, with trade-in values available for eligible equipment.

The offer appears intended to lower switching costs for sound companies, venues and production providers considering a move to SSL Live systems. Trade-in schemes have become common in professional audio and video markets, where product cycles are long and buyers often weigh the residual value of existing equipment before making a purchase.

For SSL, the programme complements its effort to address multiple parts of the live and broadcast market at once. TCA Tour targets crews that need portability and quick deployment, while the Live V6.2 update and the L650 and L100 Plus consoles speak to larger-scale fixed and touring operations already invested in digital mixing platforms.

The combination also highlights how pro-audio suppliers are increasingly selling systems rather than isolated devices. Hardware, software, control surfaces, networking and immersive monitoring are being presented as a single linked workflow, especially in sectors where the same equipment may move between touring, corporate events, houses of worship and broadcast production.

SSL has long been associated with studio consoles, but its recent messaging places equal weight on live and broadcast applications. TCA Tour, in particular, suggests an effort to make System T more accessible where a full-size installation or larger control package would be impractical.

The emphasis on a pre-wired, portable format may resonate with production teams facing tighter load-in schedules and smaller technical crews. In those settings, reducing setup time and simplifying transport can matter as much as adding new processing tools.

Live sound manufacturers have also been pushing more onboard effects and closer integration with specialist monitoring systems, partly to reduce system complexity and partly to keep operators within a single control environment. SSL's addition of SolidPitch and KLANG control fits that direction.

SSL described TCA Tour as "Designed for effortless and rapid deployment across broadcast, touring and live production environments."

On the software side, SSL said Live V6.2 "introduces SolidPitch, a new onboard vocal tuning effect designed for everything from gentle pitch correction to over-the-top, modern, pop vocal effects, but it also contains powerful processing capabilities for doubling and harmonisation alongside tuning, making it a highly versatile and creative effect for live production."
