VIPRE launches cybersecurity training for students

Wed, 15th Apr 2026

VIPRE Security Group has launched a cybersecurity education course series for students aged five to 18, aimed at schools, educational organisations and partners.

The new offering, VIPRE Security Training for Students, is designed for elementary, middle and high school students and provides a structured learning path from basic online safety to more advanced cybersecurity awareness.

The courses cover a range of online risks facing children and teenagers, including phishing scams, online predators, cyberbullying, identity theft, unsafe downloads and AI-driven impersonation attacks. Students also learn how to protect personal information, secure accounts and use social media, messaging apps and gaming platforms more safely.

Training is delivered through interactive modules, videos and classroom activities. Its modular structure allows institutions to add the material to existing teaching programmes or use it as a standalone course.

Course focus

The series combines cybersecurity instruction with broader lessons in decision-making and emotional awareness. VIPRE presents the programme as part of a wider effort to help young people build safe online habits as digital activity starts earlier in childhood and extends across schoolwork, entertainment and social communication.

The launch comes amid growing concern among educators, parents and security providers about the threats children face online. Those concerns now extend beyond password theft and malicious downloads to newer forms of deception involving AI tools and impersonation techniques.

VIPRE, part of Ziff Davis, operates across cybersecurity, privacy and data protection. Its broader business includes email security, endpoint protection, threat intelligence and security awareness training, alongside other consumer and business software brands.

John Trest, Chief Learning Officer, said the new student training series is intended to address these risks through age-appropriate instruction.

"VIPRE Security Training for Students empowers the next generation with the knowledge and confidence to navigate digital spaces safely and protect themselves from online threats," Trest said.

He added that the programme combines technical awareness with broader judgement skills.

"By combining cybersecurity education with real-world skills, we are helping students become smarter, more aware digital citizens," he said.

Flexible delivery

The course series is available immediately and can be used by schools and other educational bodies seeking to strengthen digital safety teaching. VIPRE describes it as a flexible option for organisations looking to formalise cybersecurity awareness training for younger users.

The launch adds to a growing market for online safety education for children and teenagers, as schools face pressure to address digital behaviour and risk alongside academic learning. Providers in this area have increasingly focused on structured materials that can be adapted by age group and fitted into existing classroom schedules.

For VIPRE, the move extends its existing security awareness training into the student market. The series is intended to give young users practical steps for identifying threats and responding safely to suspicious messages, harmful behaviour or attempts to obtain personal data.

The training spans the early years of digital exposure through to late adolescence, covering learners from primary school age to those approaching adulthood.
