Below are answers to common questions about TechDay, our editorial standards, submissions, corrections and our terms & conditions.

Editorial standards

How does TechDay identify sponsored content to readers?

We will always be transparent with readers if the story is not independently written by TechDay.

Key points

When someone outside of TechDay writes a story, we always identify the author / company clearly on the story.
If something is written by TechDay and significant changes are requested, we will identify the story as 'Sponsored'.
We do not use algorithms to present paid content above the most recent or best stories.

What is TechDay's AI policy?

TechDay uses AI as an assistive tool for editorial workflows while keeping editors and journalists responsible for judgement, source review, and publication decisions.

Key points

A real editor or journalist is involved in every story.
AI may support research, drafting, editing checks, workflow quality, and consistency.
We keep on file our source documents for future reference & quality investigations.
AI does not replace professional editorial responsibility & accountability at TechDay.
We employ more humans in our Editorial team now than before any AI was involved in our Newsroom.
AI is not replacing humans at TechDay, in fact we are employing more Interview Editors globally.

Are your TechDay reviews trustworthy?

Yes, our reviews are completely independent. We do not accept payment or secret commissions for them in any form.

Key points

None of our reviews are paid for.
Review scores, conclusions, and wording are not negotiated.
Manufacturers (or their agents) are not sent drafts of reviews before publishing.
We do not receive any commissions or affiliate payments.
We always disclose on the review if a product is gifted to us.

Can we update a press release after sending it?

No, the first version received will be considered the final.

Key points

Only send the final approved version and not drafts.

Attached or linked press releases will be rejected.
Press releases should be 650 words or longer.
See the image section below for how to send us images.

How should I send images with press releases?

Our preferred method is for you to attach one to three images to the original email.

Key points

We love human headshots, photos, product shots or screenshots to go with press releases.
Images should be at least 1,200 pixels wide by 677 pixels high.
These are the minimum sizes, larger is fine.
X
Do not stretch the image to fit our size requirements.

We don't need more than three images for a story.
Attaching images is preferred over links or online storage tools.

How does TechDay handle embargoes?

Publication timing depends on editorial workload and news value.
Releases sent to us are archived after seven days.
You will not be notified, if we do not select your release for writing into a news story.

Corrections and updates

How do I report an error in a TechDay story?

X
Sending to other email addresses (other than corrections@techday.com) delays consideration.
Include a story link so we know which story you are referring to.
Focus on what is wrong in the story, not simply sending us updated source material.

What changes will TechDay make after publication?

Our team will consider factual corrections only. For example mispellings of names or brands.

Key points

X
Published stories will not be rewritten for preference, search wording, or to suit your marketing messaging.

Can a published story be removed?

We do not remove stories after they've been published, unless TechDay has made the mistake.

Key points

X
Removal is not available because coverage is inconvenient, historic or no longer part of your marketing messaging.
!
After a story is published, it is cached on Google Search, Google News, Perplexity, ChatGPT etc. So removal is unlikely to achieve your desired result.
