AvePoint launches AgentPulse to govern cloud AI agents

AvePoint has launched AgentPulse Command Centre, a governance and monitoring product for autonomous AI agents running across Microsoft 365 and Google Cloud.

The release targets tighter oversight as organisations deploy more AI agents through tools such as Microsoft Copilot Studio and Google Vertex AI. Many now run agents across multiple cloud environments and struggle to see what those agents do, which data they access, and what they cost to operate.

AgentPulse Command Centre is now generally available after a private preview. It gives IT and security teams a single view of AI agents across Microsoft and Google services, including Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, SharePoint agents, and Vertex AI.

Single view

The product focuses on unified observability, governance, and cost control. It provides inventory and trend views for AI agents, plus monitoring of agent creation and usage. It also works across tenant boundaries and across different methods of creating agents.

AvePoint highlighted "shadow AI" as an operational risk, where teams deploy agents without central oversight. Unmanaged agents can increase exposure of sensitive data and drive unplanned spend, particularly under pay-per-use pricing models.

AgentPulse Command Centre tracks agent usage and data access, and includes cost controls designed for pay-per-use services. AvePoint said these features are intended to reduce the risk of surprise bills and clarify where consumption originates.

Google expansion

The general availability announcement also included expanded observability for Google Cloud. AvePoint said it now adds monitoring for AI agents in Google Cloud, building on existing protections for Google environments.

Google-related features include security posture management for Google Drive. The product identifies sensitive files, analyses sharing permissions, and audits external access. It also analyses inactive, redundant, obsolete, and trivial data, which can affect the quality of data used by AI systems.

AvePoint also said it provides protection for Google Cloud infrastructure, describing it as a layer covering critical data used by AI agent deployments. It tied this to broader risk management across people, drives, AI agents, and data in both Microsoft and Google environments.

For organisations using multiple cloud providers, the practical challenge is often aligning governance processes-from security and data protection policies to auditing and cost management. AvePoint is targeting that gap with a product that treats AI agents as governed assets alongside more established enterprise systems.

Lifecycle controls

The platform includes lifecycle management and data protection controls for AI agents, along with data loss prevention features. AvePoint said organisations can use granular controls to enforce governance and data security best practices for each agent.

It also flagged oversharing as a common issue in collaboration environments. AvePoint said the product can remediate accidental oversharing caused by overly broad permissions or inconsistent handling of shared links and external access.

As AI agents become more common in large organisations, governance concerns are moving into day-to-day operations. Agents can act on behalf of users, draw on enterprise content, and produce outputs that feed back into business workflows. Firms deploying agents across separate toolchains also report gaps in monitoring and accountability, including uncertainty over who owns an agent and who approves its access to data.

AvePoint's move comes as major software platforms continue to add agent-building tools, increasing the speed at which departments can deploy automation. That trend is creating a growing market for tools focused on policy enforcement, auditing, and oversight across heterogeneous environments.
