Climb names Mike Holt as Ireland Territory Manager

Tue, 7th Apr 2026

Climb Channel Solutions has appointed Mike Holt as Territory Manager for Ireland, a role covering sales and partner relations in the market.

He will be responsible for growing sales, strengthening strategic relationships with key partners and identifying new opportunities across Ireland. The appointment brings an experienced sales and business development executive to Climb's Irish operation.

Holt has more than 25 years of experience and has held senior roles at several technology companies, with responsibilities spanning channels, alliances and regional management.

Before joining Climb, he was Global Business Consultant at Xplora. Earlier roles included EMEA Director at Spacetalk and EMEA Director of Channels and Alliances at HiveIO.

Those positions gave him experience across technology, software-as-a-service, security and original equipment manufacturer partnerships.

Climb is a specialty technology distributor and part of US-listed parent group Climb Global Solutions. In Ireland, it works with partners that sell technology products and services to end-user organisations, placing the Territory Manager role at the centre of its local channel activity.

Holt's remit includes supporting partners and customers as they respond to changes linked to artificial intelligence and digital transformation. These themes have become central across the technology channel as distributors, resellers and vendors adjust their portfolios and advisory work to meet customer demand.

Ireland remains a competitive market for distributors, where local relationships and vendor ties can play a significant role in winning business. The appointment suggests a focus on direct partner management as companies seek to strengthen coverage and identify new areas of growth.

Holt holds a Certificate in Electronics from Salford College and a Higher National Diploma in Computer Technology from London Electronics College. His technical qualifications sit alongside a career focused largely on commercial and partner-facing roles.

In his first comments on the appointment, Holt highlighted both partner support and wider market change.

"I'm really excited about the opportunity to enhance the Climb offering in the Irish market, while delivering great customer and advisory services to our partners. Climb has very strong vendor and partner relationships in Ireland and I'm looking forward to supporting them, as well as our end customers, as they navigate the huge changes being driven by AI and digital transformation," he said.

Climb's leadership said the hire reflects the company's plans for Ireland. The group has positioned itself around specialist areas of the technology market, including security, artificial intelligence, data management, connectivity, storage, virtualisation, cloud and software.

The distributor operates in a part of the market where vendors rely on partner networks for reach and implementation, making channel management a key commercial function. In that context, country-level appointments can signal where companies see opportunities to build sales and strengthen coverage.

Dale Foster, Chief Executive Officer of Climb Global Solutions, outlined the company's view of Holt's role.

"We are delighted to welcome Mike to the Climb team. He brings a strong track record of building high-performance teams and will play a critical role in driving Climb's growth in Ireland. Under his leadership, Climb will offer clients the most innovative technology and best customer service on the market," Foster said.
