GoMo has launched a fibre broadband service in Ireland, extending the mobile brand into home broadband with a fibre-to-the-home product priced at €29.99 a month and a guaranteed price for life.

The offer is limited to the first 10,000 customers and carries a once-off activation fee of €49.99.

The broadband plan is available only to existing GoMo mobile customers and is sold as part of a bundled mobile and fibre package. It is offered on a 30-day rolling contract, allowing customers to leave at any time.

The launch builds on GoMo's position in the Irish telecoms market since its arrival as a digital mobile brand. It has previously used a similar pricing model in mobile, promoting a price-for-life plan to stand out in a competitive market.

Ireland's broadband market has faced persistent consumer concern over rising household bills and contract terms that become more expensive over time. By fixing the monthly charge for the lifetime of the service, GoMo is seeking to differentiate its offer in a market where mid-contract price changes remain a source of frustration for many customers.

The service is being presented as a fully digital broadband experience, in keeping with the brand's mobile operation. The fibre product is subject to location and network availability.

Pricing model

The central feature of the new package is a commitment not to raise the monthly fee for customers who sign up under the offer. There are no in-contract price increases and no long-term contract, alongside the fixed monthly charge.

That gives GoMo a simple message at a time when broadband providers are under pressure to justify higher prices to consumers dealing with wider cost-of-living strains. The price point also places it among the lower-cost broadband offers in the market, although eligibility is restricted by both customer status and availability.

Caroline Lynch, GoMo brand lead, outlined the rationale for the launch.

"When we launched GoMo Mobile, we set out to challenge traditional pricing models in Ireland. With GoMo Fibre Broadband, we're applying that same thinking. This is about giving customers clarity and certainty in a category that is often seen as complex and unpredictable. A genuine price for life promise, with no surprises and no long-term contracts. It is broadband done differently, built entirely around what customers want," she said.

Market expansion

The new product marks a broader push beyond GoMo's original mobile-only model. Since launching in 2019, the brand has focused on simple pricing and digital sales, avoiding the more layered packages often seen elsewhere in telecoms.

Expanding into home broadband gives GoMo access to a larger share of household telecoms spending. It also strengthens the case for bundling, a strategy used across the sector to reduce customer churn and deepen relationships with subscribers.

For customers, the offer combines several features likely to attract attention: fibre access, a low monthly charge, no fixed long-term commitment and protection from later price rises. For GoMo, the challenge will be whether those terms can translate into scale beyond the initial allocation of 10,000 places.

The service uses fibre-to-the-home infrastructure, which is generally seen as more reliable than older broadband connections for households using streaming, remote work and other data-heavy services. Availability, however, depends on whether a home can be connected through the relevant network.

By limiting the offer to existing mobile users, GoMo is using broadband as a retention tool as much as a growth product. That gives current customers an incentive to stay within the brand while giving GoMo a way to deepen spending per account through a combined mobile and home service.

The service is priced at €29.99 a month for life on a 30-day rolling contract, with a once-off activation fee of €49.99.
