Testlio names Darin Brown Chief Technology and Product Officer
Wed, 6th May 2026 (Today)
Testlio has appointed Darin Brown as Chief Technology and Product Officer. He joins from Zoom after earlier senior roles at Salesforce and Angie's List.
Brown will oversee Testlio's global product and technology organisations as the company expands its work in software quality assurance and AI validation.
Most recently, he led product strategy for Zoom's Productivity Apps group after the company acquired Docket, a meeting productivity platform he co-founded. Earlier in his career, he served as chief technology officer at Angie's List and held vice president-level leadership roles at Salesforce.
The appointment comes as companies face growing pressure to test AI features alongside more established software functions. Testlio's model combines AI-based tools with a global network of vetted testers to examine software in real-world conditions, including payments, localisation, accessibility and functional testing.
Testing focus
Brown's remit includes advancing Testlio's platform and product strategy while managing the connection between its technology systems and tester community. He will also oversee products tied to AI safety and benchmarking, payment and transaction testing, and localisation checks.
Testlio has built its business around a human-in-the-loop testing approach, relying on real users and devices rather than automated tools alone. Its network includes more than 80,000 vetted experts across more than 150 countries, supported by more than 13 years of proprietary testing data.
One product under Brown's remit will be LeoPulse, a scoring system Testlio uses to assess AI release readiness. The tool is part of the company's wider LeoAI Engine, designed to combine machine analysis with human review.
Testlio works with product, engineering and quality assurance teams at companies including PayPal, Uber, athenahealth, Hallmark+ and the NBA. It also lists Paramount, Strava and Merck among its clients.
The company operates as a fully remote business with team members in more than 150 countries. About 46% of its full-time employees are women.
Brown described Testlio's position as unusual in a crowded testing market.
"Testlio has built something genuinely rare: a powerful platform backed by a massive, expert community," Brown said. "The opportunity now is to use AI to empower that community. Whether we're validating a complex payment gateway or a new LLM interface, our goal is to provide the definitive standard for shipping software with confidence."
Summer Weisberg, who leads the company, said Brown would help guide its next stage of growth.
"The industry is at an inflection point where brands need to move fast while ensuring their core product experiences remain flawless," Weisberg said. "Darin has the unique background needed to drive our next phase. He will focus on advancing and scaling our platform, ensuring our customers can navigate the complexities of modern software and AI validation."
