ManageEngine is expanding in Ireland after recording 25% year-on-year growth in the market. Ireland and the UK account for 10% of its global revenue.

Ireland is now its second-largest market globally alongside the UK. The business has operated in the country for nearly two decades and plans to increase its local customer base by 25% over the next two years.

Growth in Ireland has been driven by a broader customer base, stronger activity among existing customers and its public sector presence. Almost 80% of Irish local authorities, including Cork, Kildare and Laois County Councils, use its software to manage and secure IT systems.

Its Irish customers also include organisations such as McHale Engineering and Foróige. Demand has continued among both larger organisations and smaller businesses as companies deal with more complex IT estates and security requirements.

ManageEngine, a division of Zoho, has also invested in regional infrastructure to support European customers. It opened a datacentre in Dublin in 2017 alongside another in Amsterdam.

As part of the next phase of its expansion, the company plans to widen its partner network in Ireland. It already works with Servaplex, which has helped build its customer base and public sector presence.

Rajesh Ganesan, Chief Executive Officer of ManageEngine, outlined the company's view of the market.

"Ireland is a digitally mature market with a strong technology orientation, a significant multinational presence and a large base of SMEs. For us, that combination makes it a very important opportunity. Servaplex has played an important role in building our presence in Ireland, and we see considerable opportunity to build on that foundation. Our ambition is to grow not just our customer base and revenues, but also our partner ecosystem, bringing more capable partners into the market and working closely with them to reach and educate more businesses. We believe there is significant headroom for us to grow in Ireland, and we are committed to investing in the market for the long term," said Ganesan.

Partner role

Servaplex has been ManageEngine's local partner in Ireland for years, working with customers across commercial and public sector organisations. That relationship has been central to its expansion in the market, and it wants to add more local partners in the coming years.

Its approach reflects a broader channel strategy in markets where local support and customer relationships can shape software buying decisions. In Ireland, that appears to have been especially important in local government, where procurement cycles and support requirements often favour established local relationships.

ManageEngine also reinvests 40% of global revenue into research and development. That spending supports its wider portfolio of IT management products, covering areas including operations and security for business technology environments.

While it did not disclose Irish revenue, Ireland and the UK together represent 10% of its global total. That makes the region a material contributor to the group's business and helps explain the focus on expanding its local reach.

The Irish market has drawn sustained interest from technology suppliers because of its concentration of multinationals, domestic small and medium-sized businesses and public sector digitisation programmes. Vendors with infrastructure in the country can also use Ireland as a base for serving European customers with local data hosting.

For ManageEngine, the Dublin datacentre provides that local footprint while supporting customers that want data to remain within Europe. The company linked its growth to long-term investment in infrastructure, customer engagement and local market development.

Tim McAlpin, Founder and Owner of Servaplex, said customer demand in Ireland has changed over time.

"Having worked closely with ManageEngine and its customers in Ireland for many years, we have seen the requirements of Irish organisations evolve considerably. As businesses become increasingly reliant on IT, they need enterprise-ready IT management and security solutions that can address growing complexity without adding unnecessary cost.

"ManageEngine has continued to evolve its portfolio alongside these needs, giving organisations the breadth and flexibility to manage increasingly complex IT environments. As a local partner, our role is to combine these capabilities with the expertise and support Irish customers need. We look forward to building on our partnership as ManageEngine enters its next phase of growth in Ireland," said McAlpin.
