Mixpanel has launched Agent Intelligence, a product designed to help teams measure the performance of AI agents.

The tool links agent activity to customer behaviour and business outcomes.

The release comes as product teams rapidly add AI agents to software products and face pressure to show whether those systems improve customer journeys or business metrics. Teams have often had to choose between limited visibility into agent performance and stitching together results from separate observability and analytics tools.

Agent Intelligence is designed to bring those views together in one place. Mixpanel says the product lets teams examine conversations, review cost, latency and error metrics, and connect those interactions to broader user activity within the same product journey.

Agent conversations can be tracked against the same user identity as other events recorded in Mixpanel. Those interactions can then appear in funnels, replays, cohorts and retention reports, helping teams assess whether an agent interaction helped a user complete a task or created friction.

Mixpanel says the product also records agent activity and reconstructs it into full conversations. Users can inspect exchanges turn by turn, including tool calls and results, rather than trying to rebuild the sequence from logs.

"There's no shortage of tools that will show you what your AI agent did. There are far fewer that can tell you what that means for your customers and your business," said Anant Gupta, Chief Technology Officer, Mixpanel.

"Every product leader I talk to is asking the same ROI questions about what they're building: Is the agent moving people through the funnel or getting in their way? Are power users getting something out of it that new users aren't? Did switching models actually improve the experience? Those are the types of questions we built Agent Intelligence to answer, and we've been using it to evaluate Mixpanel Agent inside our own product," Gupta said.

Broader update

The launch comes alongside a wider set of additions across Mixpanel's platform. It has expanded Mixpanel Agent so it can take on more analytical work, added no-code experimentation tools, and updated its Context Engine to deliver answers based on a team's existing work.

Mixpanel has also introduced AI-powered data governance tools intended to help users keep underlying data reliable. Together, the updates reflect a broader push by analytics suppliers to tie AI features more directly to product decision-making and measurement.

In Mixpanel's description, experimentation and feature flagging are central to the new workflow. Teams can compare prompts, tool configurations or models and measure which versions produce better customer and business results.

The system also includes exploratory analysis through Mixpanel Agent, root-cause analysis for changes in performance or costs, and proactive KPI monitoring to identify issues early. The aim is to help teams move from diagnosis to testing and iteration without switching between multiple systems.

Customer view

Mixpanel included comments from Sprout Social, which has built several AI agents, including Listening and Insights. The software company said one of the main challenges has been understanding whether an agent response actually helped a customer achieve an outcome.

"We've built several agents at Sprout, including Listening and Insights. But knowing an agent responded doesn't tell us whether the customer achieved their goal, and that's what matters most to us," said Blake Kurinsky, Senior Director of Product Management, Sprout Social.

"Before Agent Intelligence, we tracked each agent interaction as a separate custom event. Now we can see the full conversation in one view, including what the customer did and whether it solved their request," Kurinsky said.

Agent Intelligence is available in early access. Mixpanel says it is used by more than 29,000 companies and positions the new product as part of a broader effort to help product teams judge whether AI features are changing customer behaviour in measurable ways.
