NIIT Learning has been named a market leader in the 2026 Fosway AI Market Assessment for Digital Learning, which placed the company at the top of the market for live AI delivery.

Fosway's research examines how digital learning suppliers are using artificial intelligence in products and services already in use, rather than in features that remain on vendor roadmaps. In NIIT Learning's case, the report found the company had the largest number of live AI features of any vendor covered in the study and had increased that number from an already high base the previous year.

The findings gave NIIT Learning 93% of mainstream AI features live, alongside full roadmap coverage in that category. It also recorded 90% of next-wave AI features live with full roadmap coverage, while edge-advantage AI features stood at 64% live, up 22 percentage points year on year, again with full roadmap coverage.

Across all five feature segments used in the research, NIIT Learning's overall AI roadmap coverage was put at more than 86%. The segments were Mainstream, Next Wave, Edge Advantage, Mixed Consensus and Niche Play.

Functional scores

The report also rated NIIT Learning above the market average across the five functional areas in Fosway's Digital Learning Functional Model. Its strongest relative score came in Other Digital Learning Capabilities, where it was rated at 382% of the market average and classified as Market Best.

In the remaining categories, the assessment put Digital Learning Platforms at 247% of the market average, Digital Learning Transformation at 223%, Digital Learning Content at 204%, and Managed Learning Services at 331%. It also highlighted niche strengths in AI-driven content moderation and AI-enabled code and configuration testing.

The ranking marks the second consecutive year that NIIT Learning has been placed at the top level for AI maturity in learning and development by Fosway. The analyst group said its latest assessment showed rising AI activity and investment among digital learning providers, while indicating that some suppliers' public messaging still ran ahead of what was available to customers in live settings.

NIIT Learning used the announcement to highlight its recently launched AI-Ready L&D Enterprise portfolio, which it said brings together AI-native platforms, managed services, consulting and operating models. The company positioned the portfolio as part of a broader push to help clients move from AI testing to wider operational use.

"It's exciting to see NIIT ranked as the Market Leader for AI Maturity in L&D two years in a row. This is a testament to both the uniqueness of NIIT's L&D AI vision and the depth of deployments across our clients. Organisations today are looking beyond AI experimentation, they want partners who can help them operationalize AI at enterprise scale with measurable business impact. The launch of our AI-Ready L&D Enterprise portfolio marks the next chapter in that journey, bringing together AI-native platforms, managed services, consulting, and operating models that help organizations build learning ecosystems ready for the future, not years from now, but today," said Sailesh Lalla, Chief Business Officer, NIIT Learning.

Fosway said the assessment is the first part of a two-stage research process. This initial stage focused on AI roadmaps, live deployment and innovation, while a later report will examine adoption and value.

Myles Runham, Senior Analyst covering Digital Learning at Fosway, said the latest research showed a widening gap between marketing claims and practical deployment. "In the second year of our Market Assessment research, we can clearly see AI investment and activity accelerate amongst Digital Learning providers in 2026. Whilst messaging can still overstep the reality of AI innovation really available, a few vendors have a clear eye on future direction and have maintained a leadership position in roadmap development and live deployment with customers. NIIT is one of those leading the market in our data," said Runham.

Client focus

NIIT Learning said the recognition reflected work already under way with customers, particularly around coaching and measurement within day-to-day workflows. It also linked the result to pressure on learning leaders to show a return on AI spending.

"Earning a place on this list for two consecutive years demonstrates that our clients are experiencing true transformation with meaningful capability change. We have developed AI coaching infrastructure that integrates seamlessly into daily work, adapts to everyone, and measures real behavior change rather than just module completion. Our newly launched AI-Ready L&D Enterprise Series combines this depth with our consulting expertise and advanced learning architecture into one unified system. For CLOs facing board-level scrutiny to prove the impact of their AI investments, this recognition and launch arrive at the perfect time," said Devenderjit Chadha, Chief Customer Officer, NIIT Learning.
