Oracle has introduced new artificial intelligence features across its Fusion Cloud Applications suite, including 25 agentic applications for finance, human resources, supply chain and customer operations.

The additions centre on Fusion Agentic Applications, supported by Oracle's Fusion Claw execution runtime, alongside new interfaces called Fusion Companion and Fusion Agentic Home. The tools are designed to let staff set objectives, delegate tasks to software agents and monitor progress within existing organisational controls.

The new applications include tools for ledger management, workforce orchestration, payroll activity, supply planning allocation, procurement spend, sales configuration migration, service health monitoring and field demand planning. They are designed to work across large volumes of business data and prepare actions for human review and approval.

In finance, the ledger application is intended to improve close readiness and handle accounting exceptions by reconciling information, investigating anomalies and applying fixed computations to financial analysis and execution. A procurement spend application analyses purchasing and supplier agreement data to identify maverick spend and contract leakage, quantify potential savings and recommend corrective action.

In HR, workforce orchestration is aimed at building workforce plans that balance demand, cost and continuity by assessing redeployment, hiring and external talent options. The payroll activity workspace compares current pay, balances and costs with earlier periods, flags material variances and prepares follow-up actions for review.

Supply chain and operations are another focus. Oracle's supply planning allocation application determines how scarce materials and capacity should be assigned across competing demand by evaluating production lines, work centres, finished goods and components, then producing allocation plans for teams to refine and approve.

In customer operations, the service health check tool identifies service performance issues, assesses likely root causes and prepares actions across knowledge, automation, routing and process before approved steps are carried out. Strategic field demand planning predicts resource needs, highlights coverage gaps and prepares workforce actions intended to align field capacity with customer demand while managing overtime costs.

New interfaces

Oracle also introduced Fusion Companion, which it described as an intelligent layer for Fusion Applications. The software is intended to work through supported AI tools, including ChatGPT, using business context, enterprise data and user permissions to determine the transactions, workflows, approvals and software agents needed to carry out a task.

Oracle said Fusion Companion can also draw on data from other enterprise systems and coordinate authorised actions across them while respecting existing security controls and permissions. Fusion Agentic Home sits on top of that layer as a personalised interface where users can define business goals, delegate work and track progress through to completion.

Oracle presented the changes as a shift from software that assists with individual steps to software that manages broader business outcomes under human supervision. The model is based on people defining objectives, authority and accountability, with the applications coordinating the process needed to reach the intended result.

Fusion Claw underpins that approach. Oracle said the runtime is built to support larger-scale and longer-running tasks, continuous replanning, deterministic execution and what it described as governed autonomy, allowing the applications to take on more specialised work while remaining within organisational policy.

Another part of the update is Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications, a development environment for customers and partners to create, extend and manage software agents and agentic applications. The product supports both no-code and pro-code methods, and includes observability, return on investment measurement and safety controls.

Chris Leone, Executive Vice President, Applications Development, Oracle, said: "The next era of enterprise AI is all about delivering software that increasingly does the work, while people define the objectives and set the policies. Fusion Agentic Applications, powered by Fusion Claw, can take on highly complex business processes economically and at scale. And with new AI experiences like Fusion Companion and Fusion Agentic Home, people can describe what they want to accomplish and delegate that work to AI agents and agentic applications. These innovations change how people work with enterprise software, giving them more capacity to focus on the decisions that matter while retaining control and accountability."
