OutSystems named G2 Leader for AI agent builders in 2026

Thu, 19th Mar 2026

OutSystems has been named a Leader in G2's Spring 2026 Grid Report for AI Agent Builders, citing strong user ratings and administrative scores for its AI agent development tools.

G2 placed OutSystems in the Leader category based on customer satisfaction and market presence. OutSystems reported a 100% Ease of Admin score, with all users rating the platform either four or five stars. It also reported a Net Promoter Score of 95, and said G2 data showed 100% of users believed the product was "headed in the right direction".

Market context

AI agent builders are an emerging category in enterprise software as businesses look beyond chatbots and scripted automation. These tools focus on creating autonomous or semi-autonomous agents that can take actions across business applications and data sources. G2 defines AI Agent Builders as products that let organisations build and manage autonomous AI agents that integrate directly with enterprise systems and data.

Enterprises have increasingly tested AI agents through limited pilots, but broader rollouts often raise operational and governance questions. Common concerns include managing data access, tracking agent behaviour, and administering changes across multiple systems.

OutSystems described the recognition as a sign of progress in moving from early-stage trials to deployed software.

"The gap between AI experimentation and production is where most enterprise projects fail. Our G2 Leader recognition reflects our role in bridging that gap," said Woodson Martin, CEO of OutSystems.

Product focus

OutSystems linked its G2 placement to OutSystems Agent Workbench, described as a single environment for designing, deploying, and overseeing AI agents. The company positioned it around governance and administration as well as development.

Category scoring also highlighted areas tied to enterprise deployment. OutSystems reported 95% customer satisfaction for contextual awareness and 91% satisfaction for data privacy and compliance, presenting the results as evidence of its security and governance approach to AI-driven automation.

A reviewer quoted in G2's material cited control and safety features.

"Agent Workbench is agentic AI with governance, [and] security in place. So, everything that a large enterprise is looking for now," said an OutSystems reviewer on G2.

Signals for buyers

The G2 Grid is based on user reviews and product scoring. OutSystems' position in the AI Agent Builders report follows other G2 placements it cited, including being named top in G2's 2026 Best Development Software list and appearing in the Top 100 Best Global Software Companies list.

Eric Gilpin, G2's President of GTM, said peer reviews are increasingly shaping enterprise purchasing as buyers research products before engaging vendors.

"Today's software buyers often make decisions before ever speaking with sales. That's why trustworthy, review-powered insights matter more than ever," said Gilpin.

He added that customer sentiment can help organisations compare AI agent platforms.

"OutSystems' appearance in G2 Reports reflects the strong trust their customers place in the platform and the impact of their continued innovation in building AI-powered solutions. For buyers exploring AI agent builder platforms, recognition in these reports signals that customers are successfully using the product to build intelligent, integrated experiences that deliver real business value," said Gilpin.

Competitive pressure

Interest in AI agent development has drawn established application development vendors and cloud providers, alongside specialist start-ups. The category sits at the intersection of software development, process automation, and AI model integration. Buyers often assess these products against operational requirements such as access controls, auditing, and administration, as well as how easily agents can connect to existing enterprise systems.

OutSystems' reported scores for Ease of Admin, privacy, and compliance align with those concerns. The company also emphasised its ability to help teams build and govern secure, scalable applications, positioning the platform as a way to pair faster software delivery with control requirements.

Martin said the company sees different outcomes in organisations that move beyond experimentation.

"We see a clear divide: organizations stuck in perpetual pilot mode and those using our platform to build and govern secure, scalable applications," said Martin.
