Ripple has added new features to its Ripple Treasury platform, including a new 24/7 Returns offering for eligible corporate customers.

The update is aimed at businesses including American Airlines, Trax, Christian Louboutin, Subway, Adecco and Kingfisher, enabling them to manage cash, liquidity and payments outside traditional banking hours.

The revised platform combines treasury management tools with what Ripple describes as an orchestration layer and digital payment rail infrastructure. It is designed to automate workflows across cash positioning, forecasting, reconciliation, liquidity management and payments.

AI orchestration

At the centre of the update is an orchestration layer linked to GSmart, Ripple Treasury's treasury-focused AI system. Ripple said it is intended to connect data, decision-making and payment execution, helping finance teams reduce manual work and respond more quickly to changing cash needs.

The launch also introduces 24/7 Returns, which will allow eligible corporate customers to earn returns on qualifying digital assets held in a Ripple wallet, including RLUSD, its U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin. The feature is designed for operating cash that might otherwise sit unused overnight, at weekends and during holidays.

Customers using the programme will not need to manage the underlying digital asset transactions themselves, provided they meet the scheme's requirements. The move places RLUSD more directly into corporate treasury use cases as stablecoins continue to attract interest from finance teams seeking alternatives to conventional cash management tools.

Cash management

Industry data cited by Ripple points to growing pressure on treasury departments to make better use of cash balances. According to the 2026 AFP Liquidity Survey, 46% of organisations increased their U.S. cash balances over the past year, while 86% of treasury professionals said their organisations would choose real-time money market funds if those products met their investment policies.

Kevin Permenter, Research Director at IDC, outlined the wider shift in treasury operations.

"Treasury is moving from visibility to action, and the emerging challenge is orchestration: connecting trusted data, intelligence and the ability to move money so that better decisions turn into timely execution. Platforms that bring those layers together, rather than assembling them across providers, are addressing the constraint that matters most," said Permenter.

Ripple is positioning the updated platform as part of a broader push to link corporate finance operations more closely to digital financial infrastructure. It wants to combine treasury management, payments, liquidity, stablecoins and custody in a single offering rather than requiring businesses to work across several providers.

That approach reflects a wider effort by financial technology groups to persuade large companies that treasury functions can operate continuously rather than around cut-off times set by banks and conventional payment systems. Ripple argues that faster settlement, AI-based analysis and digital asset infrastructure can help close the gap between identifying a cash need and acting on it.

Customer adoption

One early customer referenced in the announcement was Trax, which commented on the relationship.

"When one of the core tenets of your business is payment accuracy and security, you have to have an incredible partner and ecosystem. Our partnership with Ripple Treasury is just getting started and already returning value," said Blake Tablak, Chief Executive Officer of Trax.

Ripple Treasury is led by Renaat Ver Eecke, who said treasury operations are changing alongside payment infrastructure.

"The way businesses move money is changing, and treasury needs to evolve with it. As AI accelerates decision-making and digital rails enable money to move around the clock, businesses need systems that can keep pace. Our vision is to bring treasury management, intelligence, and execution together, giving finance teams the ability to act faster and operate continuously without adding complexity or sacrificing control," said Ver Eecke.

Ripple was founded in 2012 and says it holds more than 85 licences. Its business spans payments, custody, prime brokerage and treasury management, with RLUSD and XRP used across parts of its product set.
