Storm Technology names Conor Flanagan as Practise Director
Storm Technology has appointed Conor Flanagan as Practise Director of its Dynamics 365 Business Central division, putting him in charge of the company's Business Central practice.
He will lead the unit's growth, strategy and delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central services. His responsibilities include solution design and delivery, project governance, staff and methodology development, and partner management.
Flanagan will work with clients, senior stakeholders and internal delivery teams to align Business Central projects with organisations' operational, financial and strategic goals. The role also covers shaping the company's market approach, supporting business development, and work across automation, reporting and AI-enabled ERP systems.
Storm Technology, part of Littlefish Group, operates from Dublin, Galway and Belfast. It works across sectors including hospitality, construction, utilities, sustainable energy and the public sector.
Flanagan joined Storm Technology in 2020 as a Financial Reporting Consultant and later became ERP Team Lead, leading a multidisciplinary team focused on Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Before joining Storm Technology, he served as Chair of the Technology Committee at Chartered Accountants Ireland, was a Senior Auditor at Grant Thornton, and held accountancy roles at Finnegan Gibson. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a degree in Computer and Information Technology and Administration and Management from Queen's University Belfast.
The appointment puts a finance-trained executive at the head of a business software practice at a time when many organisations are reviewing finance, operations and reporting systems together. Microsoft's cloud-based Business Central ERP platform for mid-sized organisations is often used to connect accounting, supply chain, project and operational data.
Leadership role
In the role, Flanagan is expected to oversee both delivery and the commercial direction of the practice. That includes project execution, how the division presents its services to the market, and how it develops relationships with software and implementation partners.
Karl Flannery, Chief Executive Officer of Storm Technology, said Flanagan's background combines finance and software delivery experience.
"Conor's combined background as a Chartered Accountant and ERP practice leader enables him to bring a strong blend of financial, technical and commercial expertise to his role at Storm Technology. His skill set sits at the intersection of finance teams, operational users and technology platforms, ensuring that Business Central implementations deliver real business value rather than purely technical outcomes," said Flannery.
Storm Technology's focus on Business Central reflects steady demand for ERP projects that bring finance reporting and operational workflows together on one platform. Consultancies in this market are also under pressure to show they can support automation and AI-related features while maintaining reporting and governance controls.
Internal promotion
Flanagan's appointment is also an internal promotion after several years with the business. His progression from reporting and advisory work into team leadership and then practice leadership suggests Storm Technology is drawing on existing staff as it expands specialist service lines.
That progression may also matter to customers seeking continuity on large ERP projects, where implementation and reporting changes can run over long periods and involve finance teams, operations managers and technology staff. By appointing a leader who has worked across reporting, advisory and delivery roles, Storm Technology is placing someone familiar with both project execution and client requirements at the centre of the practice.
Flanagan said the new role would focus on modernising systems while maintaining reporting structures.
"I'm pleased to take on the role as Practise Director for Storm's Dynamics 365 Business Central division, as we help organisations modernise their finance and operational systems while maintaining strong reporting frameworks. Having led complex ERP projects across multiple industries, I look forward to leveraging my experience to deliver the highest standard of service for my team, our clients and their businesses," said Flanagan.
