saas.group has acquired 3D AI Studio in its 27th deal.

3D AI Studio makes browser-based software that turns a text prompt or a single image into a 3D model in seconds. The platform also includes AI retexturing, export tools for Blender, Unity, Unreal, Three.js and 3D printing, and a node-based workflow builder called Flow.

The acquisition takes saas.group into AI-native creative tools, adding a product with 1.9 million registered creators in more than 25 countries. The company says users have generated more than 4 million assets on the platform.

Founded in 2024, 3D AI Studio was built for game developers, 3D printing users, product designers and creative studios. It runs directly in the browser and does not require a local GPU setup.

Founded in 2017, saas.group acquires software companies across categories including online marketing, human resources, developer tools and customer experience. It has more than 400 team members in over 25 countries.

Its previous acquisitions include Tower, Rewardful, Prerender, Juicer, Seobility and Timebutler. Adding 3D AI Studio extends that portfolio into 3D content creation software.

Jan Hammer, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of 3D AI Studio, said the business had grown beyond what he could manage alone.

"I built 3D AI Studio alone, from a small town in Germany, because I wanted a tool that gets you from an idea to a usable 3D asset in seconds. It grew faster than one person could keep up with. The process with saas.group was fast and open, and it felt like working with people who have been founders themselves. Joining saas.group means I can finally build 3D AI Studio the way it deserves, with a team behind me and Tim Schumacher to learn from. For our users, nothing changes today. What changes is what we can build next," Hammer said.

The transaction also highlights how newer AI software products are being folded into broader software portfolios. 3D AI Studio describes itself as a profitable, self-funded business, a point saas.group highlighted in discussing the acquisition.

Tim Schumacher, Founding Partner at saas.group, said the buyer viewed the company as an unusual example of a fast-growing AI software product built by a single founder.

"Jan has built something genuinely rare: a profitable, self-funded AI product that more than a million creators around the world actually use. He did it almost single-handedly, and at remarkable speed. 3D content creation is being rebuilt from the ground up right now, and we're excited to give Jan the platform and the people to keep 3D AI Studio at the front of it," Schumacher said.

The deal adds to a series of acquisitions by saas.group as it continues to assemble a portfolio of niche software products. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the buyer said the transaction was completed as part of its founder-focused acquisition model.

For 3D AI Studio, the sale marks a move from a founder-led standalone business into a larger group with operations across multiple software segments. As Hammer put it: "For our users, nothing changes today. What changes is what we can build next."
