SIOS maps spring webinars on cloud & SQL resilience

Thu, 2nd Apr 2026

SIOS Technology will host a webinar on cloud resilience and has outlined a spring schedule of appearances focused on SQL Server availability and Linux application protection.

The webinar, titled "Resilience by Design: Keeping Mission-Critical Workloads Running on AWS", will cover how to design resilient cloud infrastructure, address failure scenarios, and maintain application availability during maintenance or outages.

SIOS also detailed a series of technical sessions on SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery across operating systems and cloud platforms. They include one comparing SQL Server high availability on Windows and Linux, and another examining deployments spanning Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud.

At SQLBits in Wales, Aaron West, senior solutions engineer, is due to present "Breaking the Default: SQL Server High Availability on Windows and Linux". The session will examine clustering architectures, failover processes, patching and maintenance issues, and the operational effects of each approach.

At the same event, Dave Bermingham, senior technical evangelist, is scheduled to present "Building Resilient SQL Server HA/DR in a Multi-Cloud World". The session will focus on architectures for SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery across multiple cloud providers, including the use of Always On Availability Groups and Failover Cluster Instances.

Bermingham is also set to deliver the same session at SQL Saturday Jacksonville. The presentation will draw on real-world architectures for running SQL Server across multiple cloud environments and will address recovery objectives, vendor lock-in concerns, and risk reduction for organisations operating across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.

Linux Focus

Outside the database market, SIOS plans to demonstrate its Linux-focused software at Red Hat Summit. Attendees will be able to see SIOS LifeKeeper for Linux, which is designed to provide automated failover for applications running in physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

In Europe, SIOS will also take part in PASS Summit Europe as a Gold Sponsor, with both an exhibit presence and a conference session focused on high availability and disaster recovery for SQL Server users.

The programme reflects continued demand for software aimed at reducing downtime in mixed-infrastructure environments, particularly where businesses run applications across multiple operating systems or cloud providers. Database administrators and IT teams are increasingly being asked to maintain service continuity while also managing patching, upgrades, and the operational complexity of hybrid and multi-cloud estates.

That has made resilience a recurring theme in the infrastructure software market, especially for organisations running business-critical databases and Linux applications. Vendors in this segment have sought to position their products around failover, clustering, and disaster recovery as companies spread workloads more widely across on-premise systems and public cloud platforms.

SIOS focuses on high-availability and disaster-recovery software for Windows and Linux applications across physical, virtual, cloud, and hybrid cloud environments. Founded in 1999 and based in San Mateo, California, the company sells products including SIOS DataKeeper and SIOS LifeKeeper.

Masahiro Arai, chief operating officer, linked the event programme to the broader operational challenges facing infrastructure teams.

"These events provide an opportunity to connect with IT professionals and database administrators who are responsible for ensuring the availability of critical applications," Arai said. "As organisations increasingly deploy workloads across multiple operating systems and cloud providers, it is essential to implement resilient architectures that protect against downtime and data loss."
