TeamViewer enhances Microsoft Intune integration

Thu, 5th Mar 2026

TeamViewer has expanded its integration between TeamViewer Tensor and Microsoft Intune, adding new features aimed at streamlining remote support workflows for IT teams. The company said the update helps administrators resolve issues more efficiently without switching tools, while preserving operational context across platforms.

The update links remote access and support workflows more closely with Microsoft's endpoint management environment. TeamViewer said the integration supports faster issue resolution by allowing IT teams to work with device and policy context while managing support tasks.

Integration update

The enhanced integration includes unattended remote access for Windows, macOS, and Android. It also extends TeamViewer remote connectivity to Intune-enrolled devices that do not have the Company Portal app installed.

TeamViewer said the update is designed to reduce friction in day-to-day IT management as organisations handle increasingly complex and distributed device environments. The company said the integration allows IT teams to manage support tasks more efficiently while staying within existing management workflows.

Device sync

A key change is automatic synchronisation of device information between Intune and TeamViewer Tensor. TeamViewer said the sync provides near real-time visibility across both platforms, reducing duplicate configuration and administrative overhead.

Through this synchronisation, device data remains aligned between Microsoft Intune and TeamViewer Tensor, which TeamViewer said supports smoother management of distributed IT environments at scale.

Security controls

The integration adds support for Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (Windows LAPS), allowing secure, on-demand retrieval of privileged credentials for local administration tasks. TeamViewer said this helps IT teams resolve issues efficiently while maintaining strong access controls within a single platform.

The integration also builds on Microsoft Entra ID and Intune security policies to support conditional access enforcement for remote sessions. TeamViewer said it also enables centralised auditability and compliance-ready remote sessions within existing enterprise governance frameworks.

Operational context

TeamViewer said preserving full operational context is a central part of the integration update. By reducing the need to switch tools, the company said IT teams can resolve endpoint issues more efficiently while keeping relevant management information in view.

The announcement also points to the demands facing IT teams as they manage large numbers of endpoints across distributed environments. TeamViewer said the tighter integration is intended to reduce manual effort and allow teams to focus more on strategic priorities.

Availability

The enhanced integration is available in private preview for selected enterprise customers and partners, with general availability planned in the coming weeks.

TeamViewer did not disclose commercial terms, packaging, or whether the enhanced integration requires specific TeamViewer Tensor licensing tiers. It also did not name the initial preview customers.

TeamViewer is headquartered in Göppingen, Germany, and employs around 1,900 people globally. It reported revenue of around EUR 768 million in 2025.

Alfredo Patron, Executive Vice President, Global Partner Ecosystem and Channels at TeamViewer, said the update is aimed at reducing workload and improving efficiency for IT teams.

"IT teams are under constant pressure to do more with less," Patron said. "Our new integration between TeamViewer Tensor and Microsoft Intune removes friction from everyday IT management, enhances enterprise-grade security, and enables faster, more efficient remote support at scale. It allows IT teams to focus on strategic priorities while keeping employees productive."

TeamViewer said the integration will move from private preview to general availability in the coming weeks.
