MongoDB to invest EUR €74m in Ireland & add 200 jobs

MongoDB is investing €74 million in Ireland, adding about 200 jobs and opening a new office in Cork.

It plans to increase its Irish workforce by more than 50% by 2027, bringing headcount to more than 500 across its Dublin international headquarters and the new Cork site.

Hiring will focus on engineering, product development and customer-facing roles. The investment is intended to support Irish operations as customers look to move artificial intelligence projects from testing into wider use.

MongoDB established its EMEA headquarters in Dublin in 2013. Initially focused on customer and technical support, the office has since become a larger part of the company's international business.

MongoDB serves more than 65,200 customers worldwide and says about 75% of the Fortune 100 use its products. Named customers include Anthropic, ElevenLabs, TUI, Vodafone, Decathlon, Lombard Odier, Financial Times, L'Oréal Groupe, and Volvo Connect.

Irish expansion

The new investment will fund engineering, AI development and operational growth in Ireland. MongoDB also plans to deepen investment in local talent and university partnerships under the leadership of newly appointed Vice President of Product and Technology Donal Walsh.

The Cork office will complement the Dublin base, giving MongoDB a second location in Ireland as it expands its teams. It did not provide a detailed breakdown of how the €74 million will be split between property, hiring and other spending.

MongoDB's teams in Ireland build and support its database platform for customers worldwide. They also work with customers to develop AI-based applications while navigating European requirements for data protection, security, and the EU AI Act.

The investment comes as Ireland seeks to strengthen its position as a European base for AI-related work and software development. Irish officials and business groups welcomed the announcement as a sign of continued interest from US technology companies.
